Hello, Sorry if this is a repeat question. My 2001 Maxima GXE/Auto Service engine soon light is on, is showing codes P0171 and P0174 which I was told is left and right banks running lean. Was also told it might be the MAF sensor or the oxygen sensors. It has four O-2 sensors, one before and after the pre cats on both sides of the engine. The car has 127,000 miles and I am assuming all parts are original. When the car is cold and you first start it and try to drive off it bucks and then there is no throttle response, then for a second it surges and the tires bark then goes back to no response. If you put it in park and rev it up it runs fine, but put it in drive when cold and back to bucking. I just let it warm up and that problem goes away. It also has lost a lot of its top end power and fuel mileage has dropped. I checked for an inline fuel filter to see if it was part of the problem, but none were found from fuel rail to gas tank. Parts store said it only has one in the tank on the pump. I also pulled the main cat off and it is clean.I did check the connector to the MAF sensor and it is OKI plan on replacing the MAF sensor first then the O2's but that will be a chunk of $$$. I just wanted a second opinion or constructive criticism. Thanks again

Clean the MAF sensor with zero-residue contact cleaner or CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner (available from Autozone and the likes). Check and replace air filter if dirty. O2 sensors are possibly bad but start with the MAF sensor first
