Hi there, This might feel like a repeat issue but here is my problem. My Maxima ran fine for almost 8 straigh years.

Last three months I have fixed Service Engine soon issue 4 times and it is back again, It started off with Oxygen Sensor( Front before CAT) going down, got it fixed then a month later came some transmission issue, God knows what was the real issue and what the repair shop fixed, they said it was Mass Air flow sensor issue. A month or so later there was an issue with Ignition coil, I got all the six coils and spark plugs replaced. Two week later got the service engine soon again, this time it is rear sensor.

I am trying to find what is the real deal. I am not a mechanic and I understand this is mechinary and things can go wrong. But what bothers me is that how come there is no issue for 8 years and things starting to fall apart all of sudden. It is really painful to spend hunderd's of bucks every month

Appreciate any suggestion Thanks J

Sounds pretty much normal. Have you had to replace thecv joints too? What about the alternator?

You could do some of this and save some $ but you need to investin some tools.

The alternative is new car payments and I dont think any comprable car isgoing to treat you much better

Thanks for the reply. I did not have to reolace CV joints or alternator. I forgot to mention that I replaced my battery last year

After 8 years of use it's no surprise you need to replace the sensors and injectors. Just make sure you use quality parts as I've seen numerous people have to replace parts over again when they skimp on lower-cost brands.

I have 140k on mine and luckily have only had one issue with a O2 sensor but since the light has been off for a while I'm not going to worry about it (and it's only driven 30 miles a week now)

Call me superstitious but I keep my battery fully charged with a charger at least 2 times a mo. and keep distilled water in the cells

A engineer friend of mine said if the battery got low sometimeseletrical switches only partially opened creating problems down the line.

I have done this with 2 cars of mine and rarely have had electricalproblems.
