2001 maxima auto will not reverse

after trans filter and fluid change reverse will continue to move car foward...any suggestions on what to fix would be appreciated

Do the other shifter positions/gears behave correctly? I wonder if your shift linkage is just out of adjustment.

all the others seem fine but did not get the chance to actually test drive...sorry forgot 2 mention had to replace gasket and pan as well after trans fluid leaked out...will check linkage though when i get the chance
