Hey, I'm new to the forums and thought I could use some advice on some parts for 01 gle Max. I was thinking of taking this route.. Short Ram intake (Don't know what manufacturer to use!), exhaust system, 18" rims, suspension drop ( don't know how far i should go, and headers. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!

Search around, check the FAQ, and read through the forums. A lot of that stuff has been pretty thoroughly covered.

Sounds like you've got a good plan to start with.

Don't forget to post up pictures of the car!

Oh good plan.I would say get an Injen CAI. thats what i got on and i love it. Only bad thing is that it cost around $200. for the exhaust look around and find the one that you think sounds the best. for the headers i heard the ones on ebay are good but im not 100% sure just heard that around the forums.

Good luck

For the exhaust, I would look into Cattman, dude makes great stuff for the 5th gen Max's. As far as lowering it, I would go with the Eibach lowering springs, and the Tokiko Illuminas (5 way adjustable). Just my dos pesos.

Hey thanks for the advice.

What size rims are you guys riding on? I was thinking about getting some 18"s but I'm not sure. I've seen some pics of some dudes and their maximas and for some reason the back tires seem to look more slammed than the front and I'm sure its not by choice. What type of drop do you guys recommend for the best look?

I personally would like to see someone put some more modern rims on an older car. Maybe your car would look cool with some newer infiniti wheels? For horsepower however, i would highly recommend replacing the ypipe first. Thats the piece that does most of the choking to the engine. Im pretty happy with my 227hp but i almost want to see whatd happen with an aftermarket highflow ypipe.
