2001 Infiniti I30 - Possible Purchase

Gave up on the Maxima that I was looking at and now am interested in an 2001 I30 with 99,267 miles on it. Dealer want $9900, which I think is insane. Looks to be in great shape, but I have to look at it in person yet.

If it looks as good as the pics, and drives well, I was thinking about offering $6500-7200 range, although I think they'll balk at that. Anything I should look for on this car as far as possible trouble spots?

I paid less than that for my 04 Maxima. I would offer them $5k for the 01. The car is almost 10 years old, there's no way it's still worth almost $10k. If they tell you that you're out of your mind, laugh at them and tell them there is no way you're paying that amount for a car built 10 years ago unless it has some type of flux capacitor in it... $9900 is a very high price.

I'm selling my I35 for less than what you are considering offering on the I30.. Mine is newer, but has a few more miles, but a better looking car with a better engine...

I certainly wouldn't pay more than $6k for an I30 unless it had like 50k miles on it, or cash in the trunk.

Yeah I would have to agree with both of them. Even though it's a great car (from personal experience ) almost 10k is insane for that old of a car with that many miles. You could almost get a Z or something for that. For like 3k more, just a better deal IMHO.
