hi guys, i have an 01 i30 and it had a problem with the IAC, i replaced the IAC but it still had the same problem and code, after some research on the forum and internet i found that it is common for the ecu to go bad when this problem occur, so anyway after finding my ECU and opening it, i found a burned fuse thing inside it but the burn goes all the way to the other side of the circuit board.

anyway to make a long story short i basiclly need a new ECU, the only problem is i cant find one with the same number as mine, and i was wondering if anyone knows if other ones will be compatible? also does it need to be reprogrammed by dealer?

my ECU has the 3U on top of it and part # A56-P71 Z63
the car also has traction control

i did a little more research and called a couple of junk yards, one guy told me that the part # have to match, but another guy said that as long as it is an 01 with traction control i should be fine

i also called the dealer and they said it will be around $1000 for a new one
they did give me this part number: 2371m-5y016RE

ok i did a little more research on the part # the dealer gave me and i found this on a nissan maxima forum:
Manual Trans
Without 17" Aluminum Wheel 23710-4Y900
With 17" Aluminum Wheel 2371M-4Y916RE
Auto Trans
Without Traction Control 2371M-5Y006RE
With Traction Control 2371M-5Y016RE
so based on this i think that an ECU from a 00-02 maxima with automatic tran and traction control should work, can anybody confirm this?

anyway ill try to see if i can find a cheap one on ebay or in the junk yard

You can have your ECU repaired:
- AvPro ECM in Fort Meyers, FL (http://www.avproecm.com/nissan.htm). These guys will repair your ECU, and add fusing protection to it, for $250, with 2-3 day return and a lifetime warranty.
- Module Repair (http://www.shop.modulerepairpro.com/Eng ... an-Maxima-
2000_c801.htm) will repair your ECU for $199.- and ship it back within two days. They advertise the same service on eBay for $99.
