Good day all. I just picked up an '01 QX4 this past weekend, excited to start building my first 4x4... I'm confused though. I went to my local off-road store in Denver, CO and the guy there looked at me funny when I wanted some aftermarket parts. Things I'm looking for: lights for my Yakima Loadwarrior rack, a bull bar (so I can put some lights on there too), and a Jerrycan rig for the top, side, or back. Anyone have any suggestions? I am constantly told that items for a Pathfinder of the same year will not fit, but I am not too sure if that is true. I did find a place that makes rear bumpers for QX4s (www.tacticalarmorgroup.com) which include a jerrycan rig, but they are real expensive AND I have to put the spare on the back instead of the top where I have it now.

I need to know how to start, can anyone help this noob?

Matt

Parts are definetely not at common for our trucks in an offroading sence, but near anything can be done this same with some DIY

the easiest way I can think to make a heavy duty jerry can rig would be to build it so it can slide into a hitch. Would be easily removeable aswell, assuming your willing to DIY.

I've been looking for months for some stuff for mine, and I can't find any anywhere. It seems like the qx4 is out of luck when it comes to aftermarket parts. The best suggestions that I have received is find a metal fab shop that would do it for cheap for you. Tactical armor is way too expensive. For the price they wanted for the bumper I liked I could have a suspension lift lol.
