2001 I30 75K

The car runs great and the gas mileage has not changed. The SES dash light has been going on and off for several months. It goes off for a few weeks and then comes on for a few weeks.

Yesterday I started the car and in addition to the SES light the ABS, TCS, and Slip lights came on too. I shut the car and restarted it then the lights were off except the SES. Today all the lights are on.

Any ideas??

Thanks for your replies.

In a Q45 when the ABS, TCS and slip lights come on it's telling you you're alternator is shot. Autozone will check it for free. Get it taken care of before it takes out your battery and other sensitive electrical components that need a steady voltage. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I forgot about Auto Zone. I will get it checked out.

I thought the alternator warning light would come on if the alternator was not charging the battery. Sometimes theses cars are very strange??

Thanks again.

I went to Auto Zone. They could not tell me what was wrong, except the O2 sensor was causing the SES light to come on. He reset the SES light. Checked the alternator and it was working. The brake fluid is not up to the full mark, but it is not low either. I will buy some DOT 3 fluid and fill it up.

Tomorrow I will try Advance Auto. Maybe they will know more.

If they cannot help I think I will bring the car to the dealer. I think these are just too complicated for the regular mechanics.

I will post more as I go along. Maybe it will help others.
