It seems that if something like this happens often enough then Inifniti needs to correct the problem. I have seen other posts where maybe a fire didn't happen but the ECM got fried because the idle air control valve shorted out. The mechanic hasn't found everything that burned. But I expect several thousands of dollars and extensive damage. He is even saying that the electronic motor mounts could have gotten it too or could have been another cause of the ECM being burned. So far I have to replace the idle air control valve, the ECM and the battery (yep-it got fried). Anyone have a contact at Inifiti headquarters that I can call?

I'm not sure of your car's exact sale date and mileage, but the ECM is covered by the Emissions warranty for 8yr/80k miles.

Thanks for letting me know. I am at 126K right now. I have had this car for 4 years and this is the only thing (although major) that has gone wrong with it.

Does anyone know if there is an Infiniti issued service bulletin for the idle air control valve malfunctioning?
