But the wiring is quite different. Note the interior headlight adjustment panel on the 1999-2001 FY33.

Just curious as to why you would want to do this?

That plus black housings on Touring and Anniversary ed. which look bitchen.

For some reasons, i think he meant to ask if the the F50's Gatlin gun headlights will fit the Y33.

Ahh! Yes, you are right! NM then, in that case, no they won't fit. However, the 99-01 HID's will fit.

F50 lights have been fitted in the G50.

I imagine it took an assload of custom work, but its been done. I just need to find the thread that had the photo.

True, I've seen them in Lexus', Previas, etc, but it's the light unit custom fit into the existing housing. Gotta wonder what the light pattern is like w/o properly engineered reflectors.

Zinkie should chime in as he custom fit Viper HID's into his Y33 light housings. Same process I guess.

Well if the reflector unit is intact, there should be no problem, except for loss of the leveling motors.

*** F50's Gatlin gun headlights will fit the Y33.***What? I'm new to the Q45s sorry, don't know what F50's are and still not sure if I own a Y33

---I like the headlights on the 2001 Q45s, and I own a 98, so wanted to know if I could simply purchase 2001 headlights and throw them in?

The 1997-2001 Q45 is chasis code FGY33, so we tend to refer to them as Y33's. G50's are the 1990-1996 Q45, F50 is the 2002-> Q45.

Heck yeah, black housings, HID's. When I bought my car, the first time I looked at it, the lights were old and yellowed, but when I went back to look again, they had replaced them with brand new ones, and IMO, they look just as good when they are new, like the magazine articles called them "jewels". Had the Infiniti dealer not replaced them with brand new units, I was gonna just get the 99-01's and swap them.

You can get 99-2001 units BTW as they are the same. One of my friends w/ a white 97 has them and they look great.

They look the same to me. I have a 99 with HID's. How do these differ from a 2001?

Thanks, Cisco!

Yep, my carputer can do all that plus Navigation and internet surfing. The possibility of uses is limited to what a computer can do. I spent about $1500 - $2000 for the touch screen, computer motherboard and other components, automotive power supply (auto start-up and shut-down the computer), headunit, speakers and amplifiers. Most of the people with the carputer use the mini-itx platform (small motherboard with very low power consumption, very small size). You should look at http://www.mp3car.com before you start to build your system. The cost will be cheaper if you want to keep the factory Bose system and add an auxilary input. I didn't find any auxilary input for our Q's so I replaced the Bose system.
