Hello.

I've got a 2001 Pathy 3.5L SE that just hit 117k. The last time I drove the car, the first three settings on the A/C did nothing. Earlier the same day, the A/C worked fine. I heard the A/C compressor start, but there was no increase of airflow for the first three settings. Combinations of A/C and Circulation buttons did not change anything. The fourth setting seemed to work as normal. I changed the in-cabin air filter about a month and a half ago. Does anybody know what the issue could be?

EDIT: It really sounds like the fan control amp as described in this thread. This is the part I need, correct?

My vehicle does not have a fan control amp. What else could the issue be?

when this happens in a pathfinder with the manual A/C (knobs), its the resistor on the blower.

when it happens in a pathfinder with the AUTO / Electronic A/C (digital), its the fan amp.

Is this (other side) the blower resistor? It was filthy when I removed it. I cleaned it and attempted to run my A/C again, but it still only worked on full blast. Some corrosion is visible near the top, is that a likely cause of failure? EDIT: Is there supposed to be a resistor at the white spot in the middle of the black side? Would this function as a replacement?

I know. I already removed the part.

I'll just buy the part tomorrow at NAPA for $47 and test it in the parking lot. If it doesn't work I'll return it.

Yeah, that's why I have no fan control amp.

Bought a replacement blower motor resistor at the local Nissan dealership for $82, worked perfectly.

EDIT: The new part number is 27150-0W714, while my factory original was 27150-0W712. Looking at Courtesy Parts, none of the 27150-0W714 are specifically for the R50, but whichever one Nissan gave me works fine in my R50. It's also $47-ish there, I should have bought it from CP rather than my local dealer. The 27150-0W712 is also available, but it is "uncategorized". The actual R50 part that I found looking through Body Electrical -> 270 Heater & Blower Unit is [27077] HEATER SWITCH RESISTOR, 27150-R50001 for $59.60.
