Alright so I have gone through everything and cleaned it new gaskets on the intake manifold, cleaned aac, regulater and a few other things. My idle is at 2000rpm's sometimes it goes down to about 1200 rpm's but that is still high. It used to be at about 550-600rpms. Also when I turn in the little screw on the aac it will go down a little but then the throttle respose sucks. There are no vacumm leaks. Could the ignition timing have anything to do with it? Any suggestions?? I have a 1989 with ka24e. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you disconnect the TPS sensor before turning the screw?

Yes timing can have an effect. Check the FSM and set the AAC and timing the proper way and then see whaat you have.

Let us know how that goes.

alright I still need to check the timing but I am almost 99% sure that it is the MAF. Because it was running perfect then all of a sudden like crap. I popped the hood and while it was running jiggled the wires and the rpms change dramatically. Any thoughts??

I have had similiar problems with my car, and found it to be the timing and the throttle positioning sensor

there's is a small screw in the front right of your intake manifold. it is connected to your throttle. loosen the nut and turn it 1 or 2 turns counter clockwise and than tighten the nut. and your idle should be good.
