my xterra door locks lock themselves when any of the doors close and now the fob will not respond. sometimes the doors will lock and unlock by them self with the doors locked and the key removed and the fob laying on the work bench in the garage. any ideas?

Have you checked the battery in the fob? Sounds almost as if the signal is getting messy. Sort of like when you have a rechargable remote control car and the battery starts to die, it starts to act funky.
