Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and need some help. I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE and my throttle body has a crack and I need to replace it. I found on for a 01' but told this will not work and i have to get a factory $600 unit. I was born at night just not last night, so is this corect?? I would like one with the sensors on it and in good condition with ok miles on it. Any help would be valued. Thanks for your time.

Well where are you buying it from? A dealership is always going to be the highest....try rockauto.com theyre pretty good.

I checked there and they show the gasket and sensors but, no throttle body itself.

I dont see why the throttle body from a 2001 wouldnt fit on a 2000. They both have the same motors

The throttle bodies are exactly the same on the 2000 and 2001.

I'm seeing different part numbers for the two. I'm not exactly sure what the difference is though.

look at this website. The whole body and IACV valve is that same code number for the 2000 and 2001. its code number 16298m. Even though the part numbers are different the items are exactly the same. They just put different part numbers on there to help tell what year it goes for. IF you look at the part number for the IACV that actually attaches to the throttle body its the same part number as well as the rest of the parts.

Both 2000 and 2001 are part number 16298M
