2000 Sentra - Sunroof Replacement

Hello all,

A friend of mine had her sunroof busted out, shes already bought a new OEM sunroof, but needs to get it installed. I was thinking of doing the work, but after doing some research it looks like the sunroof is pretty difficult to replace.

Anyone have any experience with this replacement and specifically taking the headliner out? If it's too difficult I will just send her to the shop, but I was going to do this as a "favor".

I don't have any previous experience working with Nissans, but I worked on quite a few others (mainly Germans)

I'd reccommend a helping hand to line it up correctly as well.1. Open sunroof shade.2. Close glass lid.3. Remove the six bolts securing glass lid assembly to sunroofassembly.SHADE ASSEMBLY NIBT0021S021. After removing glass lid assembly, remove two screws secur-ingdrain channel.2. Remove drain channel.3. Remove shade assembly.SUNROOF ASSEMBLY NIBT0021S031. Remove headlining. Refer to “Removal and Installation�,BT-29.2. Disconnect front and rear drain hoses.3. Remove the two screws securing sunroof motor to sunroofassembly.4. Remove sunroof motor and bracket.5. Remove bolts securing sunroof assembly to roof.6. Remove sunroof assembly.
