Im buying this R34 for $48K and I need to know if its worth it. It has the stock twin turbo with 40k original kilometers. It was owned by an old japanese man and took well care of it.[][][][][][][]

If you don't know yourself you really shouldn't be spending $50k on it. Seriously.

He probably means that it has 40,000km on it.

Anyway, look it over for yourself. Does it sound okay, how are the fluids, what are the gauges telling you, how does it drive, etc.

Unless It's A Motorex Exempt R34, I Wouldn't Touch It.

Cause There Is Always That Possibility Of It Getting Taken Away And Getting Crushed.

But If Blowing Away 50k Is Not A Big Deal For You, Offer Him 40k. I Mean 20k More And You Can Get A R35 Which Is Fully Legal.

But it's less likely to be TMS approved.

It looks nice but not 48k nice. I'd say if you want to drop cash like that make sure that car is worth 60k to you and remember it can all be gone by a dumb driver.

Has He Tried Registering It?

Usually It's A Bad Move. When The Importer Gets Caught They Find All The VIN's And See If Anyone Has Tried Register Them And Track Them Down Thru The DMV.

You Should Check Out The Skyline Section.

and do your homework on the legality of it. you're in cali, the vehicle nazi capital of the u.s. that car has dealer plates on it. dealer cars don't need to be registered to be driven around. once that title is in your name and that plate is gone, you might be left with the most expensive lawn ornament.

This car drives insanely cherry. I pushed it for about ten minutes on the freeway, take off and top speed, and this cherry was suprisingly of the charts, being that its a 2000 model. Owner took really good care of it. As he says, he babyd the hell out of it.

I checked all the paperworks. Its legally registered in florida as a kit car. I can get in line at the DMV on jan. 2nd 2010 and be one of 500 registering a car as a Special Build vehicle.

IIRC, Special Build Aka "Kit Cars" Excuses Only Works If The Car Was Not Sold In Other Countries Are A Regular Car.

I Knew That Car Looked Familiar...

The whole care was fully re-assembled in the US. Therefore, registered as a kit car.

Wrong...

Their Is A Reason He's Not Selling Cars Anymore...

If The Car Was Sold As A Whole In Another Country, It Loses It's Chances Of Becoming A Kit Car.Unless It's 25 Years Or Old, Then It Wouldn't Matter Anyways.

I've Looked At This Predicament From Every Angle.

I Will Own A R32 GTR!...In 2014

Just Remember State Legal Doesn't Always Mean It's Legal Federally.

And Since Local<National Laws.

They don't, they just blackmail the states into doing what they want. If you dont do this we will cut funding for this.
