2000 QX4 ...Problem with obstruction to radiator drain plug

2000 QX4..

I am trying to do a coolant flush and stumbled into a little problem. There looks like a stabilizer bar right beneath the radiator drain plug. No screwdriver can get past the bar unless you take this bar off. This beam is also on the right side of the engine (facing the engine) and attaches as a bracket beneath the engine. I'm hesistant to remove this bar. Are other people having/had this problem and how do you manage this?

Just pull the lower radiator hose to let it drain

i never bother with petcocks
