2000 QX4. Keyless Entry issues

When I bought the car, it came with Keyless entry of course but the previous owner said it did not work. The remote is old and worn but Idk if that has to do with anything. I changed the battery in it yesterday but nothing happened. Should I buy a new remote or should I change the relay? Where else would you go after changing battery? I looked online for another remote but I was unsure at what I was looking at. Remote has fcc id: kbrastu09 on it. It's a 2000 qx4. Thanks! Trying to start on the "small things" before tackling some of the other issues.

Have you tried the key fob reprogramming sequence? It is the same for most Nissans and involves inserting and removing the key into the ignition 6 times, etc...

I can't remember where to locate it at the moment, but it can be found very easily on Google. I'd give that procedure a try first.

No. I have seen some things about that but have not tried it yet. I will try looking today and see if I can find that and try

I've looked online at a replacement remote. I found a pretty simple key fob for the 2001 qx4 but the remote is different. Can I use the kbrast15 even though mine now is a kbrast09? the 09 are really difficult to find. I"m also assuming that the reprogramming sequence is the same for a 2000 that it is for a 2001?

No, you can't use a kbrastu15, only kbrastu09 as it is for 98-01 models, the 15 is only for 02-03 models Qx4.
Looks like your only option is to buy a used remote.

I have a 2002 QX4 and had problems for years with the keyless entry UNTIL I went to the Infiniti dealer and bought a new one for 79.00. I haven't had one issue since. The best 79.00 I've ever spent.

Hey. I tried resetting or setting up the keyless entry with the existing one today. No luck. Hazards flashed but nothing when I hit the keyless entry. What should I try next?

You need a need key remote. They sell them for 79$ at the dealer. Don't play with used ones.
