I am looking at buying this car and the used car dealer says it has that code but that it doesn't affect performance and is a common issue with q45's. Obviously I am skeptical!

I have done searches as recommended by the "search tips " sticky but havent found that specific topic. I have found coil pack and injector issues but am not clear on if they are related to this year of car since most of the posts list the engine #( I assume that is what it is;). Also knock sensors seem to come up alot.

I am traveling 9 hrs to purchase this car on friday so any help would be appreciated.

Were coil packs be replaced by dealer/recall etc for free if they were bad? wishful thinking i know but never hurts to ask

thanks for help in advance!

Just a common item that can be one of the many things that add up to $3,000 to $10,000 that every used V8 lux car for sale needs.A 10 year year old car can range from good to very very poor depending on the amount the previous owners spent to maintain and repair.

Uneducated on the exact year and model often miss shocks, suspension rubber component and the other 100 items they are not familiar with in evaluating a vehicle.

Why you always pay an expert to list and quote the things they find to use in price negotiation.

THE last thing most sellers want is as knowledgable buyer!

Thanks for the quick reply! In the meantime I got the vin and called an infiniti dealer and they said in oct 2007 car was in a dealer and dealer recommended 8 coil packs to be replaced and work was declined. Dealer said to me that is around $2000 to fix. I will avoid that car as the price was $6200 with 94k.

Once again thanks! As a side note -do all the coils usually need to be replaced at once?

Things like new coils are like needing new spark plugs common. The things people always miss are those that don't affect cranking or running like shocks, weak ac, half wornout transmission, diff, driveshaft, rack.

Things that make a $50k car only sell for 10cents on the new MSRP dollar at 10 years or 100k.

Anyway when you add up all the prorated wear and tear items you still spend $2,000 per year forever depending on tire sizes to maintain. You have to save $500 per year for a transmission replacement and half that for HVAC.

It really adds up to $3k down [just after purchase] and maybe another $3k prorated annuallyuntil you replace worn out systems.
