Car: 2000 Q45 115k - with issues

Post

Ok I posted about my Q a few days back that has LOTS of issues

today I connected a Linova code reader the model is 3100a, not the most expensive one but it works ok.

I got P 1320 Ignition Signal Primary

the FSM says there is a fault in the primary circut

has anyone had experience with this code? when the check engine light came on it came with TCS and Slip stuck on and some really rough idiling. When I search on here and read its not clear if the problem is knock sensors, or just a bad connection, or a bad MAF.

Im pretty capable and have my dad to help me who is very capable but it would be very much appreciated to be steered in the right direction, maybe what is best to look into first.

My car is also throwing P1320. Also, it is throwing a bad knock sensor on bank 1, and a bad secondary o2 sensor on bank 1. I can deduce, fairly accurately, that I have a bad coil pack in the bank 1 cylinders.

Is your car throwing any other codes?

 I too am having the same issue with my Q45. My 2001 Q45 has just over 140,000 on it and a few days ago the P1320 code popped up. It comes and goes and I can't explain why. When I shut off the car and restart it, the TCS and SLIP light turn off while the SES (service engine soon) still remains lit. The car runs fine. Any thoughts?

Could be several reasons for the P1320. Most of them are related to the ignition system. Usually is a engine misfire. Some of the potential issues are:

-bad spark plugs (must use OEM NGK's)
-bad coil pack(s)
-CPS (cam position sensor)

I was throwing a code P1320. A couple times a week, upon initially starting my car, the engine would run rough, turning on the SLIP and TCS lights on my dash. Within 20-30 seconds though, the car rough idle would disappear. In my case, the driver's side valve cover gasket had failed, leaking oil onto the cam position sensor (it is located on the leading edge of the driver's side cylinder head). The oil had gotten into the sensor case, coating the electronic board. A new CPS cured my problems (This was 4 months ago).

My solution was a rarity though. Most P1320's stem from bad coil packs.
