2000 Pathfinder - Trailer hitch questions

I'm looking to getting and installing a trailer hitch for the 2k pathfinder but just had some questions because I'm new to this topic. I'll need this to tow a small boat, so I'm thinking class 3 and below should do it.

I'm trying to search for used ones so I can save some money on this but I'm not sure what size will fit. Do these have to be made for the car itself or they just have sizes that fit on certain cars? If it goes by size, what size fits?

Anyone selling one for 2k pathfinder??

you have to get the one specific for qx4 / pathfinder 96-04

brand new theyre like 200-something dollars they can be found used but they are kind of rare. i see them on craigslist once in a blue moon.

the local junkyard or pink-n-pull should have one. expect to pay $50 at self-serve, and about $75 at full-service.

you can install it yourself with basic hand tools and some manual dexterity.

How big is the the boat? How much does the boat, motor, trailer, and gearwegh?

I'd get a 5000 pound hitch. The price difference isn't all that much different.

I've got a Draw-Tite on my '01, and it's been fine for about 70K miles of towing.HiddenHitch looks similar. No drilling required in any case. I installed mine bymyself in an hour or two, including the wiring kit, but it's a lot easier with abuddy (big beefy buddy is best).
