Hey guys,

Been doing some research, but still have a few questions.

So my PFer stalled twice while driving, everything just shut off. After a few minutes I'm able to get her started up again (cranks right away but doesn't turn over until sitting for a bit). Power is fine and idle is fine. First time I ignored it, 2nd time happened at a very dangerous moment so I need to fix it.

Plugged in my code reader, gave me a P0340, cam sensor error. Seems to be common. So I want to replace the sensor myself, but confused where it's located. I've seen some videos on the 3.3 it's under the distributor (or part of it), requiring a swap.. The other videos and posts I've seen it's located down below the back of the motor near the firewall. Looking at the service manual, seems that 340 code is the distributor.

Before shelling out the bucks, can anyone help shed some light here?

Additional info:
Spark plugs and wires changed about 30k miles ago, appear to be fine still
Battery terminal is a bit corroded so I'll clean that up, would that throw a P0340 code?

Thanks!

With the 3.3 engines the cam sensor Is part of the distributor assembly; meaning the fix is to replace the entire unit. the symptom you described is consistent with cam sensor failure.
