So I just replaced the IACV on my 2000 Pathfinder because I was getting the code for it and having a really struggling idle. I'm definitely inexperienced with anything beyond an oil change, but I was fairly confident that I got everything put back together properly when reinstalling the upper plenum, etc. I used new gaskets for the IACV, manifold gasket, and EGR (that thing sucked the most and my hands are now ruined  ).
When I finished putting everything back today, I started her up and she sounded pretty good apart from a high-pitched whine I had not heard before. After a minute of idling, grey smoke started coming from under/around the upper plenum along with a burning smell. It wasn't huge clouds, but definitely noticeable enough to where I shut it off. Any idea what this might be?
I did have a large amount of liquid leak when I was removing a hose behind the plenum at the firewall, and I thought it was really dirty coolant (dark green). I was assuming the system would pull more coolant from the reservoir, and I would just fill up to the max line after. I don't know if that's related to the smoke or not, just another question...
Thanks for any help, these forums are a godsend.

You could recheck your vacuum hose and EGR connections. All the vacuum hose routing diagrams are in the EC of the factory manual. The smoke could be combustion exhaust from a broken hose to the EGR or the bypass valve. Good luck.
