Hello all, I am new here and I am very happy to have found this forum!! Originally I was looking for a spot online that might offer add-on products for my pathfinder, but as of last night, I need to get it running first!

The deal is - it will start (after sitting for at least 20 mins) and then it will idle normally for about 5 mins and than it lopes and idles horribly and then dies. It almost acts like it is running out of gas, but it has plenty. Also, it is throwing a code and I will find out what this is sometime this afternoon.

I have limited tools and experience so I am hoping someone here can offer some suggestions of items to look at and how to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered!

First step is to find out what the code is.

yup. OBDII is your best friend in situations like this.

Thanks guys for the advice, but unfortunately when I was troubleshooting yesterday I inadvertently cleared the code(s). Doh!!

At this point I can get the engine to turn over and actually idle, but the minute any strain is put on the motor (read - put vehicle in gear) it gives out and stalls. It will sit and idle til it runs out of gas. I can also rev the engine manally at the throttle body and it will maintain whatever RPM I run it up to. I just can't drive it. FRUSTRATING!!

I am really at a loss now. Any further suggestion? Oh and I should also mention that it rained here like crazy for the last two days, but I did not run the truck through any large puddles, but I am seeing water coming from the tailpipe and what I beleive to be the catalytic converter - about 1 cup in total.

Any help or suggestions that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Oh and Alexf20c, my truck looks exactly like your (minus the mods of course!)

Do a tune, change the fuel filter and Clean MAF.

Also, check that the battery is hold charge and alternator is working.
