son ran his car out of gas. garage quoted 600 to replace fuel pump. i bought one for 60 bucks and replaced it myself. still won't start. friend said i need to bleed fuel injector lines but i am unsure how. any help/ideas? i looked at the service manuals and i cannot seem to locate the location that i'd even try that.

thanks for any help!

Have you changed the fuel filter? Checked the fuel pump fuse?

I have not but I will.

do you know if there is a bleed screw for injectors that i can open to test to ensure the pump i installed is actually working?

If I recall correctly, there is some sort of port that can be used to check fuel pressure. I'll look in the FSM soon.

When you turn the ignition to ON, do you hear the fuel pump priming?

Page EC-37 / 38 of the FSM may be helpful. It does suggest to install a pressure gauge between the fuel filter and fuel tube, though, so maybe not.

so far i replaced the pump, the relay and fuse. no dice. hooked an odbii computer to it and got a code of 0180. reference guide says it is a fuel temp sensor malfunction.

thoughts? where is that sensor located? looked it up and it is cheap. i guess i will replace it if i can find where it is.

You can perform the diagnosis procedure on page EC-318 of the factory service manual to ensure it's not an electrical issue. I'm not quite sure where the fuel tank temperature sensor is as I can't find a part for it on Courtesy Parts. It may be part of the fuel level sending unit.

the temp sensor appears to be part of inside the tank - what i thought was the fuel gauge. maybe they are together.
i went back and found on EC-314 a method to troubleshoot. i did as the instructions said and i am getting inconsistent voltage readings. now i need to locate these harnesses.
i am wondering if when the shop that had it left something else disconnected. i already found a disconnected spark plug and the air box not put back together. when i told them i was picking it up they apparently didnt put it back together. now there is no telling what else is disconnected.

Check the following.
I Harness connectors B1, M2
I Harness connectors M94, F27
I Harness for open or short between ECM and fuel tank temperature sensor
