Hi all,
Please help
My Pathfinder will not start. If I spray gas into the plenum, it will turn over, so there is spark. I changed the fuel filter, and when I had it apart, I turned the key, and gas squirted out. I checked at the pump, and the gas line is pressurized. I know this, from the gas that sprayed all over the back seat when I disconnected it. The problem was slow starting. A stall, then rough idle, then no start. What I do suspect, is the fuel regulator, but I've looked all over, and I just cannot locate it. Could some kind person be able to give a good description of where it is, or even a pic.....with an arrow pointing to it? Thank you

Page EC-37 of the factory service manual shows the location of the fuel pressure regulator and a testing procedure.

I finally got the chance to check it out. The book shows where the fuel regulator should be, but I just can't locate it. Do I need to remove the plenum to get to it?

I can't find any indication of its actual location in the FSM and the index doesn't list anything other than the page I gave you.

The fuel pressure regulator is part 22670M in this exploded view:

It would appear it's next to the fuel pipe assembly, so I believe you need to remove the upper intake manifold to access the regulator.

Thank you Towncivilian. I think there's a lot more to it, than I'm, prepared for. Unlesss I'm just not looking in the right place. It's been in my driveway for almost a year, so it looks like I'll have to have it towed.
