I have a 2000 Pathy. Manual control Heat/AC. The blower fan only blows on high. It will not shut off. I have to pull the fuse to shut it off. I have replaced the fan control resistor. As far as I know, with the manual control version like I have there is no fan amplifier which I have seen cause this same problem. Any other suggestions?

Welcome to NICOclub!

I have moved this topic to the Pathfinder/QX4 forum, so you can get a more direct response to your problem. Hopefully somebody will be able to chime in and help you with your issue.

If you've already replaced the resistor, then I would assume that it would either be the HVAC controls or the blower motor causing the problem.

A DC motor fan duty uses the resistor tap sections to reduce input voltage at different speeds, check your speed control device, a multi position switch, at high speed external resistance is negligible, your heat air flow fan seems to be missing the resistance that will lower the input voltage to the motor. That is assuming you do have a very simple type of fan control.

This is great information and I was fairly sure this was a resistor problem. I did, however, replace the fan control resistor. So I am not sure where to look beyond that. From what you are saying it could be the manual fan control on the A/C-Heat control panel, is that right?

I was going from your post and offered a manual system, if it is automatic you should have a temperature range setting control. If digital the control you set and the system mate up very much like any control. If the blower motor has a module that regulates that module offers resistance very much like resistors.

You are going to have to check your controller, vs. the motor

You were right the first time. It is a manual control. I guess what I meant to ask was could it be that manual control knob?
