2000 Pathfinder ABS problems ?

When I brake, sometimes it acts like the ABS kicks in. It will not brake properly and feels like the brake pedal is pulsing The ABS light comes on after this happens. This does not happen with every stop, and the light will go out until it happens again. How can I check the ABS unit? Or does it need replaced?

You need to get the DTCs from the ABS system immediately after the incident. Don't turn off the key, but ground the check terminal in the DLC and see what code you have. Check the SM here for the procedure. Its easy.
