I changed the transmission in my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder which is a 4wd. Now the engine won't start.

Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help.

My first post here so take it easy on me :)

Welcome aboard!

First off, we need to know more about it. Is it manual or automatic?

My *first* area to check would be neutral safety switch / brake switch.

When you say "won't start", does it turn over? Grind? Click repeatedly? Spin but not fire?

We'll get ya running. :)

Let's start here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/ ... der/sc.pdf

FIrst off, we need to check the obvious... Battery cranking power. Do you have a multimeter?

yes. The car is cranking over fine. Does the security keep it from cranking over? I was thinking security possibly if it still lets the engine crank over but not start.
