2000 NISSAN SKYLINE R34 GTS - Why is my engine light on?

Hi everyone,

I own a 2000 R34 GTS 4-door.

For the last two weeks, the engine light (yellow/orange colour) on the right of the dash is "on". At first, it comes on once in a while and comes off whenever the car is switched off and on again. Now, its become a major problem. Not only does the light stay on, now the car shudders and jerks when the car is on neutral or "Park". Its ok when driving.

What can the problem be? I don't know engine light codes, so I'm not even sure what the engine light indicates. It looks like a bended pipe? What is wrong?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Turn the key to on, without starting it, then to off, repeat 3 times total and the lights on the dash should flash...

long usually means 10, and short flashes mean 1s, count them up and then let us know...
