Hi im having a few issues with my pathy , I bought it as a no start for cheap . Don't really have any previous data from the owner as it had changed hands a few times before me . The truck has a compustar remote start installed (very messy wiring ) looks like a major hack job under the dash , I am going to attempt to remove the system as I do not have the original remote to start the truck with . So this brings me to one of my questions . Could the remote start/alarm be causing my underhood fuel pump relay to not receive signal to switch power to fuel pump ? . ..... I have jumped the power terminals in the relay plugs to bypass ecu and turn fuel pump on , it does get power and truck runs for few moments when I use jump wire but as soon as I plug relay back in to slot it will not run , only cranks over and does not fire . I have downloaded and studied the factory service manuel but have not been able to locate a complete wire diagram for fuel pump and relays and ignition system . Any possible information or questions you have to ask would be very well appreciated . ....... also I am a second year automotive apprentice if that helps in someones description of something I should be looking at .

It appears that one of the previous owners wired it up to circumvent the absence of a factory initialized ignition key. Without a properly programmed key, the immobilizer circuit will shut off the fuel pump after the initial startup sequence. ( See section EL-259 of the FSM). The fuel pump wiring is detailed in section EC-458). Tackling other people's "creative" wiring workarounds is an ugly process I'm afraid.
