2000 Nissan maxima axle or transmission problems

Hey I recently got my driver side axle put on, and the other day I tried to make a left turn ,it jerked and the car won't move in any gear at all and when I put it in park it makes some weird loud noise. It transitions from other gears fine, except when I put it in park. Any ideas what the problem could be??

Sounds like it needs to be removed and reinserted
You might see if there is a clip (on the end that is inserted in the transmission)
which is missing
