BRAVO NISTECH!
I keep pointing out to techs how important it is to have feet and feet of Consult data paper on a perfect running example for future reference.
The non linear curve of the MAF voltage leads to great confusion. As do Fail Safe parameters in OBD2.
What is the typical max/I30 WOT at 6,000-6,500 rpm MAF voltage. It goes above 3.89 volts I assume?
On a 90-96 Q it is 4.25-4.30-4.35, even 4.40 [depending on air temperature...........had a few [bad ones] which read 4.55 volts and the injector time increased 20-25% [perfect 11.0 at torque peak rpm dropping to 10.4ms at 6,500] [vs.>12.5 ms] to a super super rich low power.........kind of the opposite condition for one kind of failed MAF.
The purpose/effect of Assist and reflashing ecu is to reduce the number of Independents. As a BSEE I can deal with it, but the typical Independent is lost!..........never to recover from electronic complexity.
