Im getting code P0500 not P0720, the transmission is shifting gd, just the speedometer not working & my mileage stop also.I replace the Revolution sensor on the rear on top of the transmission, but im still getting a p0500 code. I called my nissan dealership and the said i needed the Speedometer pinion sensor. Ok I replaced the VSS on top on the transmission, I started the car up and the speedometer still dont work, I'm also still getting code P0500 & my O/D is flashing when the car starts up. Do anybody know what else is wrong. I was thinking it might be the VSS harness. I just changed the Speedometer pinion itself. if it is the harness do they sell them at any auto store or is it a dealer part. also is the harness easy to replace.

Did you check the VSS sensor for open short before installing it? It may be new yet be bad. Did you check correctness and security of connectino?. If sensor is Ok, the problem is most likely with the harness or connection to the ECM. Refer to the link below for more info.
