I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE 3.0L V6 with Auto Trans, leather, bose stereo. I have an issue with the Horn. It intermittently gets stuck on while driving down the road. It also has gotten stuck on when unlocking the car with the remote. You have to hit the unlock button a bunch of times to get it to stop. Anyone know whats wrong with it?

You may have a problem with the NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System). Check the Security LED - with doors unlocked, the LED should be blinking every second (DISARMED state). Close and lock all doors (+ hood and trunk). The system goes into PRE-ARMED state (while checking the sensors) and the LED remains ON for @ 30 seconds. If internal test is good (door sensors, etc) the system goes into ARMED state where the LED blinks every 2.4 seconds.

You can refer to the attached link, starting on page EL-281 for NATS diagram and diagnostic.

I took the relay box cover off on the passenger front side of the car under the hood. Took the horn relay out and looked at it. Put it back in, and snapped the cap on and it started blaring the horn like it was stuck on. Armed the car with the remote and it shut off. Pushed on the top of the box around the horn relay and got nothing. Pushed on it about 2/3 way back towards the rear and it did it again. I got it to repaeat 5 times, then I took the cover off and tapped on all the relays. It is not doing it anymore. Wonder which one it was causing it?

Check the underside of the relay panel for loose/corroded wires/connections and repair as required. Then clean the relay socket and pins with contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease before installation.
