2000 Maxima GLE strut question REAR

Can someone puhleeese tell me if the top hat on the rear strut has a reference point? I know the bottom of the rear strut does but do I need to make sure the top hat on the rear struts are located at a clock position? I know the fronts have an OUT reference.

it doesn't matter how u put the tophat in...as long as the bolts go thru without excessive binding, they should just pop right in :-)

Thanks. I'm doing a shade tree strut upgrade. Would you happen to know where I can find the torque specs for the top hat and side bolts to the rear struts on a 2000 GLE??

Don't know about yours specifically. The specs for mine are: tophat- 18-25 ft. lbs. Strut rod nut- 15-18 ft. lbs. Side, (bottom), mount bolt 80-94 ft. lbs.
