i'm removing the automatic transmission and was wondering if i could remove it without having to remove the entire engine mount assemblies under the car(crossmember)? Also if i could do it without removing the y-pipe?

Motorvate has instructions for a manual, but i don't want to do any unnecessary extra work.

so far ive got the intake, battery and tray, most of the transmission bolts, starter, and axle shafts removed. and all the electrical disconnected.

it seems to me that i wouldnt have to remove the crossmember or the y-pipe, but i'm not sure if i have to remove the torque converter from the plate??

thanks!

well...i actually ended up removing the crossmember with the motor mounts, it wasnt hard at all. I don't think i'll need to remove the Y-Pipe.

i have to rotate the driveplate to unbolt the torque converter, but i don't know how to rotate that :-/ could I use a breaker bar on the pully bolt to spin it around??

the answer to my own question is Yes...if you need to rotate the Torque converter, put a socket wrench on the crank pulley bolt and spin clockwise
