my ambient temp sensor got torn off somehow and I got a new sensor and just tried to wire it back to the existing wires but my compressor still wont start unless I jump out the solenoid and it will blow good and cold if I stand there and hold the solenoid in but I don't understand why its still reading -22 on the dash like the ambient temp sensor is still not working idk what else to do. thanks for any thoughts.

Welcome to NICO! Bummer to hear about your problem man.
I'll try to help you out with some ideas that come to mind.

Are you 100% positive that you haven't connected the ground to the signal wire and/or vise versa? Confirm which wire is which with a multi-meter and look for the correct voltage.
The correct voltage can be found in the Factory Service manual.
If that doesn't work, we provide FSM's free to members. When you locate your year and model, you should be able to find a diagnostic tree to help you figure out what else may be wrong.

Good luck, post up as you go and we'll try to help you further!
