I need to know my options on my transmission. I dont want to convert to manual, If i was how much work would it be?Cant i get LSD with mine from an infinity?

Where can i find one?

Could i buy one from the dealership? I know someone that can get one for cheaper at the dealership but i dont know how cheaper if they even sell them still.

I need all info as you can give me because this will be a big purchase obviously.

And yes my transmission is just about had it.

You're looking at $2000+ on converting to a manual.

I got my VLSD automatic from http://www.lkqcorp.com. You will need a new driver side axle and both axle seals on the new transmission.

if you're interested in used look up http://www.car-part.com - listings from junk yards all over the country and they go for $1k to about $1.5k

yeah...maybe if you're looking to rebuild it but the kit runs about $350. did you check the link i gave you? often a junk yard will warranty the part they sell. if you don't want to paly with rebuilding you might want to look for something with less miles

You think i will have to rebuild it? I would think that one after 100,000 should still hold up just fine. Do you think something is wrong with the one i am looking at?Your link is where i got the price for the transmission. It is the closest one in the area.

A new axle from autozone or pepboys will run around $120. The axle seals you will have to get from a dealership, and they run about $15 each.

The LKQ units are pretty good, and teh gang themselves are great. I worked for a warratny comapny and they supplied parts to dealerships that we specified. Never had a problem with getting theings done right through them. Have you looked into having your trans rebuilt by a local shop. Could be you just need a new solenoid or two in there and the other parts will be good. if your putting a trans with a 100k and unknown history into the car, you might as well keep $$$ in your wallet, for when it goes out later.

just my thoughts, --Mike

i dn't know man...100k miles on a transmission - sometimes that's a lot especially that it might've come out of a rental car. ask the guy what kind of warranty he'll give you and try to find out anything you can - like if it's from a car that was running or if it got junked because the transmission was shot.after all the advice you get it's still your decision - do you want to save money now or a headache later. i looked through and there's a few inexpensive ones with around 50k just a few miles from you (less than 100) but if you don't feel like driving...happy hunting
