I have a 2000 I30 and want to upgrade the suspension. But as a benchmark, I'd like to know the differences between my 'basic' model and the I30t. Different struts? Different springs?

Has anyone out there upgraded their suspension? Should I start with the springs (Eibach?) and see how the car behaves before I considers struts or sway bar?? I'm not a racer, but I would like better handling on curves.

The "t" designation is similar to the Max Gxx vs SE differences. I believe they have somewhat stiffer springs, but that is about all.

Start with a RSB then a FSTB. The RSB is about the best "bang for the buck" mod out there. If that does not make you happy, upgrade the springs and install a set of KYB AGX's....

I have the I30t. The difference between the I30 and the t model, is verry slight. Seat-of-the-pants difference is small.

I added the FSTB ($13.00 one from eBay) on the I30t, and it made a big difference in turning.

The FSTB is a 15 minute bolt-on.

The first improvement you should consider is some 17" wheels, and performance tires. This will make the biggest handeling difference.

I would change the struts and springs last, since they involve a lot of work.

I put lowering springs on my '95 Maxima Se, and upgraded to 17" wheels with 245/45/17 Z rated tires, and it rode prety rough. Handled like a 300Z (IMO). Sold it, when I bought the I30t.

Yes. Sorry I took so long to respond.

My email notice got messed up, and I haven't been on this forum, in a while.

I own a 1999, previous gen I30. Differences were:Regular model 15" tires/wheelsT and Limited came with 16""limited slip" on the "T" and not anywhere else?Higher spring rates on the "T" and available on regular model as option.Limited had two-tone paint scheme.I am not sure about traction control, but ABS came with the "T'.My car has the higher spring rates, ABS, 16" tires, limited slip, and the only indication it "might" be a "T" is the floor mats...Both sides (matching interior color-tan) are embrodered with "Touring" on the edge. No "T" on the trunk, or wing. After test driving a 1997 I30 non-T, it was apparent I needed the "non gooshy" model.
