Hi Guys!I tried to replace the starter on my i30, but it will not engage the flywheel unless the bolts are loose. If I tighten it down the starter just spins.

Do these require or shims or something, like US metal does?

Anyone know if these are real sensitive to torquing the bolts equally? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to NICO.

Sounds like a bad starter. It should not require shims.

Is the solenoid working?

Torque specs for the starter bolts are 22-30 ft-lb on the short bolt and 57-72 on the longer one.
