You have to fix the cooling fan first. Aside from airconditioning, it also helps cool down the engine.
The cooling fan operation is controlled by the ECM as a function of vehicle speed, coolant temp, refrigerant/freon pressure and AC ON/OFF status. We'll only cover the situation with the car static. With AC OFF, cooling fan is OFF, unless the coolant temp goes beyond 203F where it starts running at LOW speed, then HIGH if temp exceeds 221F.
If the AC is ON. and freon pressure is <229 PSI, cooling fan runs at LOW speed then switches to HIGH speed if coolant temp is >203F. If freon pressure is >229 PSI, cooling fan runs at LOW speed
