Hello all this is my first post. I have been lurking for a while but I now have a problem.

I installed sound deadener in my car and I had my seats out and when I put them back in the air bag light was blinking. Now I imagine it has something to do with the side airbag. I checked and double checked all my connections and made sure I didnt damage any of the wires and it all looks good. I am just stumped and the blinking light is kind of annoying. Hope you can help and thanks in advance!

I was able to reset our 99 I30 AIR BAG light using the procedure below. The manual calls for opening the driver side only but in our case, I have to open both front doors before the light went off.
-Open driver-side door and locate the door switch (with rubber cover, close to the base of the door frame).
-Turn Ignition Switch to ON and then immediately depress the Door Switch 5 times or more within 7 seconds.
-Switch Ignition to OFF.
-Wait 1 second or more and then start the car
-Repeat the above step as necessary to reset the light.

If the procedure did not work, you have a hard fault or a problem that cannot be erased. In that case, additional diagnostic is needed to identify which module is defective. There are shops over the internet offering repair of air bag control module. I don't know how reliable these companies are. DO NOT USE MULTIMETER TO TEST AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE CONNECTIONS.
