2000 I30 Driver side chair could not move foward or backward

Hello guys,

Today I met a new problem. The driver side seat could not move forward or backward.

Every time, after I inserting the key, the driver side seat could move automatically. But today, it did not work. I also try to adjust the seat manually, but I failed. However, the other functions are still good such as move upward or downward. Now, it is very uncomfortable for me to drive, because I have to straighten my leg to touch the pedal.

Does anybody know the reason for that? If I want to fix it, will it cost so much?

This is, unfortunately, a somewhat common problem on the A33 Maxima/I30/I35. It also seems to happen without any warning. There is a technical service bulletin from Infiniti about this issue, and the only guaranteed fix is to replace the seat motor (not cheap). One thing you can try is tapping on the seat motor, that has been said to work as a temporary fix.
