I would like to first start out by thanking all of you. I consulted this forum's threads intensly before purchasing my first Infiniti. I found the information in this forum very useful and in the process reduced the anxiety of purchasing a used vehicle knowing this resource exists to provide tech support for any future issues.

My question: I purchased a garage kept 2000 I 30 that is in incredible condition except for the wheels. I am looking for advice on having them re-machined or purchasing new aftermarket wheels. Has anyone had a good experience with re-machined wheels? Is it best to find aftermarket wheel suitable to taste? I am looking to maintain the classy original look of the vehicle.

Thanks

Hello to another Dubuquer!! and welcome!

It's all about preference. If you like the look of "stock" then I would suggest trying to locate another set of stock wheels. There are advantages and disadvantages of stock over aftermarket as I see it:

Stock wheels: hard to find nices one, probably will command a price if you find themExample: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...84424

Aftermarket: many choices, readily available, probably cheaper prices

Which wheels did your car come with?

I personally like the 00/01 Maxima SE 16" 5 spoke wheels on the I30...

The wheels off of 95-08 Maximas as well as 02 & later Altimas also fit your I30. Watch the cars around you for options too.

BTW - if you see this car around town, especially downtown and over off of Cedar Cross, that would be me.
