2000 G20t: To Buy or Not to Buy

My wife likes our '95 Q well enough she wants the little sister version - a 2000 G20t -- we looked at over the weekend. 25K. Asking $13.900. Nice car. The rap, I guess, is not enough power. But the 5-speed will help with the low-end, a bit. Any other chronic problems with these things? I appreciate any comments.

Only bad thing I've ever heard was that the motor sits __flat__ and that decreases the ability for ALL oil to drain down from the head during changes. But that sholdn't be an issue if you do the good/normal 3Mo/3K mile changes.

Oh, have you looked for any I30's, 5 speeds are hard to find, but they were offered.

Buy the G20. I love mine. I've had no real problems with it other than a tachometer going bad (not likely to happen to an '00). Definately go to G20.net, we have a great, welcoming forum there.

That's a great reliable car, but $14k can go along way in buying a used car now a days. Think of the possiblities. If it's economy your looking for, there are many others with better gas milage and cheaper parts. If you want performance, get another 94 or 95 Q. With that money you could get both if you shopped around.

You can find a g20 for much cheaper than that. Look for a 5-speed 99 and it'll fit your needs. There's one for sale right now on g20.net for 9k.

G20's are very very good cars.hard to find w/ the desirable manual.
