I just bought a 2000 G20 to save gas and have something to mod on and this thing is WEAK!!!

I think something has to be wrong because it has no power...it is running awsome no ticks or odd idles... Just no power...

How should this thing feel?I drove some 2.5 Altima's that seemed to leave this thing in the dust.

I'm not expecting Q45a\HG50 Power but I was expecting a little more...

What are the things to start on to get some power gains?

Also how do you tell the trim levels the mats say touring but all the badges have been pulled\shaved ... I see a few blanks for seat heaters... what are some other options you could get on the 2000 G20?

Was Keyless entry standard?

Thanks in advance

Well it's not exactly a high performance car. It weighs somewhere in the upper 2000lb range and has 145hp, you do the math.

You could get a few hp from a new intake and exhaust system, just like any other car. It'll definitely help the car breath better such to fatten up the midrange power and keep it a little stronger up top too. At that point, you could add a header and even cams if you still don't have what you want. These cars also benefit from a re-grounding, as, for some reason, the grounding sucks. Many people report a significantly smoother power delivery from a regrounding job.

Of course, you could turbo or swap if you wanted to too, the choice is yours. But if you just want a little more grunt, do i/e and see where you're at.

Thank you for your response...

I cant beleave how much these small cars are so dependent on a clean positive and ground...

I was reading some posts about 2000 g20's and people that had idle issues were told to check battery connections. My new G20 stalled while it was idle at a stop so I checked my battery terminals and found a white fuzzy connector on the pos side. So I cleaned and WOW I gained like 40 HP!!!

The car now feels more like an Infiniti..I took the car to where it was bought and they checked it with OBD II and found the TPS is bad..(I wish my 1994 HG50\Q45a had OBDII) is this common on this car at this mileage?

Anyway the parts on order and I hope that fixes it.

Yep. Every now and again I go to start my car (01 Sentra SE with the same SR you have) and nothing happens. The negative terminal has too much corrosion is all. Irritating. If I had money, I'd definitely invest in a grounding kit.

I don't see the mileage in your post, but the SR TPS isn't an uncommon thing to replace.
