Hello All,

I own a 2001 Nissan Maxima GLE... I am thinking about purchasing an Ashtray Kit for my Lovely Maxima...

Unfortunetelly.. I have no idea on how to put in the new Cigarette lighter socket. I also dont know how to remove the Gear shift panel.

Please advise on what needs to be done....

sorry, I am not familiar with that exact model.

I assume the lighter was a factory option that your car didnt come with....

first order of business will be to see if the rest of the circuit is in the car.

check for the fuse first, then look for an unused connector in the console area.

Someone else will have to chime in with the info on removing the interior, I dont want to be responsible for it since I am unfamiliar...

the gearshift panel and radio/climate control trim pieces are both pop-outs. carefully pry with pocket screwdriver or something and it is pure buttah. connector should be there as soon as you take out the dummy.

go at it with a screwdriver with a rag around the tip so you dont hurt plastic surfaces. most of that stuff is probably attached with metal clips or pawls.
