I just needed to know if I needed any special tools or if there was anything that I needed to know about this transmission before I tore into it.

there are some press pipes for pushing gears on but those can be substituted with similar size pipes. There are several pressed on pieces so a hydrolic press will be needed for complete dissasembly and reassembly.

Yes the transmission will need to come out and have the case split to get to the shift forks inside. Though you will not have to press anything. There are some springs and balls you need to remove and pay extra special attention to what order they come out in so you put them back the exact same way. You would be doing that to remve the shift rod for what ever fork you are replacing.

HI NISTECH, WAS WONDERING IF YOU'VE WORKED ON THIS TYPE OF MANUAL transmission. I HAVE A 2000 ALTIMA AND NEED TO CHANGE A BEARING INSIDE THE transmission ITSELF, BUT NEVER DONE IT BEFORE, EXPLAIN HOW TO DO IT , WILL APPRECIATED, THANK YOU
