Called dealer they say no common problems anybody have suggestions, Dad

Welcome to NICO.

You signed your name as "Dad" after your post.....so...welcome Dad!

Anyway, what exactly on the dash panel has gone out and what else (if any) along with it at the same time? Is the car stalling at a stop? When you said the car had no power, do you happen to know what RPM's the engine was able to go up to and how many MPH could the car go when you had this problem?

Electrical problems in a car are hard to diagnose sometimes. Hopefully a few of us here can give you some insight. I'm surprised the dealer couldn't help you. Perhaps go to a new mechanic or dealer.

the car has never stalled only the speedo and tach go dead I am not sure if water temp or other gauges fuel ect are involved the car continues to run fine, when shut off and restarted dash returns, the strange noise Iam not sure getting info from 19 year old and it only happened once , she said leaving stop light when accelarting car made strange sound as though not running on all 4 and it would not accelarate had foot to floor no power , pulled over shut down resart and problem goes away

Thanks Dad

This may not help, but I had a van that did that to me... it was the alternator.

My thoughts exactly. I would have guessed this were an alternator issue but why couldn't his dealer diagnose it is above me.

Thanks gentlemen for your help, I looked at alternator and the input/output connnector was not pushed all the way in and clipped , it was more or less floating in the socket sure looks like it could be the problem,

THANKS AGAIN Dad
